Capabilities
What we do.
Every project is different — here's what we bring to the table.
Conference AV
Typical pricing: From $6,500/day for producer + base crew
Conference AV is what we do. PA, projection, mics, video switching — all in-house.
Typical package:
- PA: QSC K-series line-array for rooms up to 1000; we size appropriately
- Projection: 15,000–25,000 lumen laser (we match to venue throw distance)
- Microphones: Shure ULX-D handhelds and lavalieres
- Video switching: ATEM Mini Pro for standard shows; larger switcher for multi-camera
- Presentation support: confidence monitors, clicker management, presenter tech
We’ve been running at Bell Harbor and the UW for years and know those load-in procedures without a walkthrough.
Staging
Typical pricing: Staging packages from $3,500
We own our staging inventory — no third-party rental markup.
Inventory:
- Modular 4×8 stage decking (various heights; custom configurations)
- I-beam and box truss in straight and angled configurations
- Full-perimeter pipe and drape; fabric backdrops available
- Speaker and award-presenter risers
Load-in coordinated with venue. We don’t do aerial rigging without a certified rigger — Cascade Production Group is our preferred sub for aerial truss work.
Gala Production
Typical pricing: Gala packages from $8,000
Full-evening gala production is something we’ve done hundreds of times in Seattle:
- Pre-event: load-in, sound check, video cue building
- Cocktail reception: background music playback, stanchion A/V
- Dinner service: ambient music, video playback
- Awards portion: scripted cue sheet, teleprompter if needed, video tributes
- Entertainment: musician or DJ A/V support, handheld mic management
For theatrical lighting (moving heads, washes, dramatic uplighting), we bring in Lumen Loft Lighting as a subcontractor — the combination covers everything a gala needs.
Theatrical Lighting
Northstar AV handles conference AV and staging in-house. For theatrical lighting — moving heads, intelligent wash fixtures, gobos, fog, dramatic uplighting — we have an established subcontracting relationship with Lumen Loft Lighting in Fremont.
How it works:
- You get a single quote from us that covers AV + staging + lighting
- We coordinate Lumen Loft’s crew with our own for a unified load-in
- One point of contact (Reggie) throughout
Alternatively, if you already have a lighting relationship, we’ll coordinate with your preferred lighting house. We’ve worked with most of the Seattle theatrical lighting companies.
